Background

Artur doesn't really know much about his past, until his mother the witch Wulpurgis took him to the Planes of Infinity. His mother didn't like to talk much about her past. It was only later when the two finally returned to the Earth dimension that Artur was able to learn any more about his mother's life. His mother had been close to the Nazi German dictator Adolph Hitler, but that was tame to her true identity as a member of the Inner Vertices's of the Pentagram. In fact she was one of the five apexes of the Pentagram.

However, it wasn't long after his birth that she left Nazi Germany, saying that it was a lost cause. The Planes of Infinity were mind boggling boring. Endless miles of monotony, except for Schloss Wulpurgis which stood out of the sandy ground like an accusing finger pointing to the sky. Young Artur's only companion was his mother, and she was still bitter about having to leave Earth and turn her lover into a pyre.

As Artur grew older his mother started to teach him magic, but almost grudgingly. Artur hated his lessons, but what else was there to do in the gloomy castle in the middle of infinity. However, there was no one to try his magic on, so Artur in turn grudgingly learned magic. His mother of course thought that he was being ungrateful.

Time is pretty meaningless in the Planes of Infinity, but even Artur grew up. He became an accomplished spell caster, even though his mother thought he didn't know anything. Artur then started going out of his way to avoid her. He wandered from one dusty dungeon to the the dizzying heights of a forgotten tower. The sound of his mother constantly calling him.

It was on two of his hunts that Artur found a way to escape from the Planes of Infinity. In a forgotten vault Artur discovered Behmen's Amulet. With it he was able to block out some of his mothers constant complaints, and it made spell casting easier.

Later, Artur was came upon the Cloak of von Sebottendorff in a boarded up cloak room. It was the cloak that granted him his freedom. Creating a gateway on the tallest tower in Schloss Walpurgis, Artur made his escape.

Earth wasn't quite what he thought it would be, but there were more people in it. Actually all those people made Artur a little uncomfortable. It didn't take long for Artur to become known to Pentagram. At least the recognized greatness when they saw it.

Using the resources at his command Artur fashioned a costumed identity for himself. Calling himself Hexenmiester he started robbing museums across Europe. His activities brought him into conflict with the Dawnstars, and especially U-Force. Hexenmiester has shown that he isn't above abandoning his henchmen to achieve his aims. Hexenmiester is a continuing threat in Europe.

Personality

Artur has always resented his mother. First she drag him off an alternate reality where there are no other people besides him and her, and then when she decides to teach him magic it's almost reluctantly. As if he even asked to learn magic. It was almost more than Artur could stand. Escape back to the Earth dimension was almost a godsend. However, even escape from Schloss Walpurgis wasn't enough. His mother had the gall to follow him. Even though bother mother and son are important members of Pentagram, Artur avoids his mother at all costs. The same can't be true of Walpurgis.

Arturs' training under his mother has taught him to count on no one else, including his mother. There's is no one that Artur wouldn't gladly sacrifice on a bloody altar if it meant more power. Oddly enough his henchmen seem to take his ruthlessness in stride, as if ruthlessness in a master is only natural.

Being always under his mothers magical shadow has given Artur a strong desire for greater magic. Most of his crimes are centered around gathering spells from lost books and other magical devices. Artur doesn't worry much about money, because he learned where a lost cache of Nazi gold was hidden.

Artur doesn't like kids either. To Artur kids are about the most alien of creatures he has encountered. Seeing kids at play is sure to give him fits. Also being touched by kids, especially with their sticky hands gives Artur the willies. He knows this is because he never had a chance to be a kid. Another reason to dislike his mother. One day Artur will be powerful enough, and his mother better watch her step them. Pay back, big time.

Quote

"Please. How stupid do I look to you? World Domination. I'll leave that to the religious nuts or the Christian Democrats, thank you."

Powers

Artur's magical might comes from three sources. The first is the magic his mother taught in at Schloss Walpurgis. Artur isn't as versatile as some mystics, but can still fling mystical bolts with the best of them. His mother probably would've taught him more magic, but Artur had fled at the time. His Blitzkrieger spell causes lightning to fall from the sky, while the Hand of Azul creates a huge glowing blue hand that will grasp a foe and hold them tight. Artur has also master two of Mindoth's spells which allows him to create visions, or stun a foes mind. He has also studied a little necromancy, allowing him to summon up a band of skeletons. However, Artur needs the materials to summon up the skeletons.

Arturs' second source of power is Behmen's Amulet, which provides a power source for his spells. Without the amulet he'd have to rely on his own energy. The amulet further protects Artur mind from intrusions and against the siphoning of power.

His final source of power is the vaunted Cloak of von Sebottendorff. The cloak protects Artur from attacks mundane and magical. He can also fly using the cloak, or can create gateways, which Artur usually uses as a getaway.

Appearance

Artur, as Hexenmeister, wears a black military style tunic, grey trousers, along with boots that reach to his knees. Over this he wears the Cloak of von Sebottendorff, which a full length cloak of that is black on the outside but has a red lining. Holding the Cloak of von Sebottendorff together is Behmen's Amulet, which is a white amulet with a pentagram on it. To disguise himself, Artur wears a mask shaped like a golden skull that covers the upper half of his face, leaving the lower jaw exposed. The eye slits of the mask makes his eyes look black. The costume is designed to inspire fear in his foes.

When not wearing his Hexenmeister costume, Artur is an average looking man with a similar average physique. Artur has brown eyes and short brown hair. Otherwise Artur can be often mistaken for a bookseller. Even though Artur is chronologically in his fifties, time works slowly in the Planes of Infinity, and as such really is in his twenties.
