Background

Uri Romanofsky once was a world-class Polish sprinter. He was returning home after an international track meet in Israel wehn the plane he was on was hijacked by terrorists. Uri, ever the hero, attempted to confront the terrorists. He was shot in the head for his efforts. However, his valient act encouraged the other passengers to rise up and subdue the terrorists. Unfortunately many were killed by terrorists before they were subdued.

Uri lay on the floor of the plane bleeding to death. It was fortunate for Uri that the teams doctor hadn't been shot, and he attended to his wound, and he was able to stablize Uri. The plane had already left Isreal, and landed in Moscow. At a private hospital, Uri was seen by Russia's top doctors. The prognosis was grim. They didn't give him much odds of surviving the wounding.

Using an experimental procedure a high tech skull-cap (which was designed by Professor) was installed in his head, replacing three fourths of Uri's skull. Without the skull-cap, Uri would've certainly died. As it was he was in intensive care for several months, followed by a year of rehabilitation. It was during the rehabilitation that some unknown side effects were discovered. Uri could now run at super-human speeds.

The KGB took notice of this Polish speedster, and he was recruited into Oktober. Uri was given the code-name: Chromedome. Uri was grateful for the Russians saving his life, and gladly joined, although he still misses his only life as a sprinter, but consols himself with his super-human speed.

Personality

Uri always had a competive streak in him. One of ther reason he was such a great athlete. Now with changes made to him, Uri has become especially competitive with other speedsters. Chromedome really enjoys how fast he can run and likes to show off by doing move bys at high speeds. The incident on the plane also affected Uri morally. Now he has a greater respect for life and hates it when people are killed or injured needlessly. Chromedome will go out of his way to prevent innocents from being killed.

Quote

"Better move out of the way, because the world's fastest man is coming through."

Powers

The skull-cap that was installed in Chromedome's head allows him to tap into parts of his brain that normally he wouldn't be able to use. The most important part is the section of his brain that deals with motion. Now with the skull-cap, Chromedome can run at super-human speeds. The skull-cap also interferes with mental powers.

Chromedome has learned a number of speedster tricks. He's especially good at running through his opponents, or grabbing their weapons as he runs by them at super-human speeds. Chromedome moves so fast that even bullets seem slow to him. He's able to bat them away with a super-speed move.

Appearance

The majority of Chromedome's head is taken up by a shiny gold skull-cap. His costume consists of a red bodysuit, red boots, along with golden arm and shin guards. When not in costume, Uri likes to wear trendy European clothing. However, his skull-cap is always visible unless he's wearing a hat. Uri doesn't try to maintain a secret identity because of his skull-cap.
