Velvatine was chemistry major at the University of Paris when she and her boyfriend Jean-Paul discovered the secret diary of Doctor Jekyll. She was also a dancer at night while Jean-Paul was a dealer in Shiva and other drugs. The pair spent the entire night going over the diary of the English madman. Velvatine even got fired from her job at the Pink Pineapple, not that she cared. Dancing jobs were a ten cent Euro piece. Now the stuff in that diary, it was worth something.

Jean-Paul got in touch with his contact, and got the ingredients from all the way from Cuba. At first the two weren’t sure what the effects would be. They generated a pill based drug, while Doctor Jekyll’s had been a liquid. They knew that the formula granted people temporary increased strength, but neither knew for how long, and of course they weren’t too concerned with the side effects.

It took most of the night to produce ten pills in the couples attic loft on the Left Bank of Paris. Velvatine was the first to call it a night, and she fell into a deep sleep after drinking some nice warm milk that Jean-Paul had made her. Velvatine was unaware that Jean-Paul had slipped a couple of the pills into the milk.

Velvatine awoke with a bad case of indigestion. The room felt hot, and when she woke it felt too small. With a start she stood up and banged her head on the ceiling. Velvatine was shocked when she looked down on her body. She had grown almost a foot in height, and she wasn’t sure how much weight she put on because it was all muscle. Then Jean-Paul was in her face asking a bunch of questions, “How did it feel? Were there any strange side-effects?” It only took Velvatine a moment to realize that Jean-Paul had tricked her. Velvatine didn’t like to be tricked. With a strength and a rage that she couldn’t control, Velvatine beat Jean-Paul to death. It wasn’t until the next morning that Velvatine regained control of herself.

At first she was shocked that she brutally murdered her boyfriend, but the realization that he had tricked her was like a balm. Velvatine didn’t feel much regret. Jean-Paul hadn’t been much of a boyfriend after all. It didn’t take long for Velvatine to pack up her stuff and vacate the apartment. Since then Velvatine has worked as hired muscle for other super-villains, and occasionally committing a crime on her own. Because of her costume, the press has dubbed her Moulin Bruise.

When it come to a fight Velvatine always plays to win. She isn’t known for her subtlety when it comes to combat. As Moulin Bruise, she always comes out swinging until she’s knocked out. While not a berserker, she has been known to go over the edge when she’s angered.

Velvatine isn’t sure if her bad temper came from the drug she took or if she always had one. Certainly with super-powers she can certainly express herself more violently. It doesn’t take much to anger Moulin Bruise. Those who upset her usually end up in the hospital.

Velvatine gets quite a kick out in the destruction she can dish out. She’s never satisfied if she doesn’t cause a lot of property damage. The longer she’s a super-villain the more destruction she’s likely to cause.

"Je suis trop sexy!"

When Velvatine transforms into Moulin Bruise she added on almost a foot in height, and a lot more body mass, and all of that is pure muscle. Once transformed, and at first she had to take a dose of the drug that she and Jean-Paul had formulated, but of late she hasn’t needed the drug to cause the transformation. Anger can easily bring on the transformation.

In her transformed state, she become super-humanly strong, able to throw around tanks like soccer balls. Also her flesh becomes so dense that most attacks that would mortally wound a normal person are barely felt by Moulin Bruise. Furthermore, most wounds delivered to Moulin Bruise heal almost as fast as they’re delivered.

With her super-human strength, Moulin Bruise has incorporated a few dance moves in her combat routines. A kick between a foes legs from Moulin Bruise is a quick way to end a fight. Foes without a cup or appropriate body armor usually collapse from such a kick. Due to dancing in a chorus line, Moulin Bruise is able to deliver a succession of high kicks that are quick devastating. Finally Moulin Bruise can deliver stomps to the ground itself that causes minor earthquakes. Those too close to her will be knocked to the ground.

When not transformed in Moulin Bruise, Velvatine is an attractive French woman with long auburn hair. It is, however, when transformed that Velvatine becomes something completely different. She become a giant of a woman with muscles to spare. Her usual costume as Moulin Bruise is a red leather bustier, a matching thong, elbow length gloves, fishnet nylons, and high heeled shoes. The transformation is such that no one has been able to link Velvatine with Moulin Bruise.
