Deep in the Himalayan mountains was a secret laboratory. The Annapurna Research Centre collected funding from India, China and Russia, although it was located in Nepal. The Centre was destroyed in 1999 after an avalanche breached the centre's defences, although there were also reports of wild fires erupting throughout the underground complex. The destruction was never reported, and the interested parties simply faded away.

There was one survivor of the Centre, although he was the only one who was aware of the fact. He was called Jeetendra, an Indian name, although his origins were not of this planet. Jeetendra was discovered on board a space ship which crashed into the Himalayas in 1970. India was the first on the scene and discovered two adult aliens killed at the controls of the small ship, and a single infant protected by a force field basinet. The Chinese and Russians arrived on the scene and together they decided to share the discovery. The space ship was sent back to Russia and China took possession of the two alien corpses. The young child, Jeetendra, was to be raised in isolation under the supervision of India.

When Jeetendra walked out of the collapsed Research Centre he was twenty nine Earth years. He travelled around the various Nepalese communities before making his way to a Buddhist monastery where he found sanctuary for a year and a day. After that time he became determined to return to India, which he knew was responsible for his upbringing, and seek answers to his origin.

The Indian government was surprised to see him alive, but quickly welcomed him and convinced him to find solace in the team of ubers known as The Assembly. Jeetendra has, indeed, found some comfort in the company of his team mates, although he is still lonely. Being a telepath had enabled him to pick up stray thoughts about his origin and he is now aware that his parents are in China.

Jeetendra is a patient being, however, and is waiting for more information before making his move.

Jeetendra is an alien brought up within a sterile research centre. He has had little contact with others during his early years, and only began to really interact with others when he began venturing across the mountains. As such he has little concept of privacy, believing that sharing information is as natural as talking, although as he is a mentalist, such a notion has further complications.

He is a pacifist being, however, and believes in avoiding conflict. He has been privy to sensitive information but has not acted on it. Whether this attitude will change over time is still uncertain, although Jeetendra does appear to take on new perspectives on life on a semi-regular basis.

"Impulsive thoughts are easier to read. Take your time, think through your plan, and I shall wait here to apprehend you at your convenience.

Jeetendra is a telepath, and it has been hypothesised that his race is similarly telepathic. These powers are focussed through psychic tendrils which 'grow' out of the back of his hands. The tendrils seem tangible but are made of psychic energy which enables Jeetendra to read others' thought, produce intense pain and immobilise bodies. The tendrils are also able to affect solid objects and have enhanced strength able to lift in excess of 5 tons.

Jeetendra also has advanced hearing, is able to withstand the elements and requires less food and sleep than regular humans.

Jeetendra is a blue-skinned alien with small pointed ears and glowing orange eyes. He has an inverted red triangle on his forehead which was not reported at the original crash site, although Jeetendra does not know where or when it appeared. He wears a simple black uniform with dark purple pants. Clothing isn't an important part of Jeetendra's life so he is just as likely to wear a simple robe, a pair of jeans and t-shirt, or nothing at all.
