Background

Krait is one of Britain's most successful mercenaries and has operated regularly for the past six years. Before being infected with radioactive hybrid snake venom, Krait was a mundane scientific research assistant at a Scottish university. But after a very long night with little sleep, Krait was bitten by an experiment and nearly died. He didn't report the accident and went home to his small apartment to die. Rather than die, however, Krait transformed. His bones shifted, his muscles developed over night and he began to generate a lethal combination of acid and neurotoxin within his body.

The first thing he did was to destroy the experiment, to hide the evidence of his transformation and to prevent anyone else from developing such powers. Already the young scientist could see the potential for making money. He was not a killer initially but as he became more accustomed to his new body and its lethal properties it was inevitable that he would begin to test his poisons on people, and soon enough he had developed an interest in murder.

But being an intelligent man, Krait decided that he would kill people for profit and began to accept contracts, quickly becoming renowned across Britain and even into Europe.  He has recently joined Celtic Fist but continues to work freelance as well.  With Pict's constant mood swings, Krait has become the field leader of the Celtic Fist group and sometimes has flashes of ambition to actually take over the entire outfit.

Personality
Krait is a mercenary who works for employers who can pay him the right money for the right risk. He is not afraid of dangerous assignments but requires high fees for doing so and has, in the past, accepted contracts on the lives of politicians, fading celebrities and housewives. He does not care about the target and will not listen to pleas for mercy. As soon as he receives a contract he no longer considers the target as a living person. He makes the decision that the target is already dead and thus worthless. Unlike many of his colleagues, Krait continues to work in the 'real world' but does so to maintain his access to the universities resources, especially the laboratories where he can continue to monitor and experiment with his neurotoxins.

Powers

Krait's emergence as an uberhuman came after a disastrous scientific accident which resulted in his body generating two lethal liquids: a neurotoxin and an acidic secretion from the palms of his hands. He uses this offensive capabilities to kill his opponents, preferring to use his fangs to tear at a target's neck while injecting them with the neurotoxin. Krait is immune to his own poisons and has developed a thick skin granting him resistance from conventional weaponry, further enhanced by hard body armour. Krait's physical attributes have also been enhanced including his strength, reflexes and speed.

Since becoming a famous uberhuman mercenary, Krait has updated his costume and now wears a pair of venom projectors which are attached to his forearms and can project his venom and acid.  It takes some time to hook up the gauntlets and it requires a blood supply using IV tubes.

Appearance

Krait was born in London to Sri Lankan immigrants and has dark skin and unfeeling dead-looking eyes. He conceals his identity with a blue visor and cowl, although the top of his head is bare and shows his short black hair. His body armour is dark olive green but has a silver highlights along the shoulders, chest, upper arms and  lower legs.  He wears acid projector gauntlets on each arm and wears a belt with several small pouches.

Out of costume, Krait continues to work as a research assistant as Glasgow University where he is an expert in toxicology. During these times he often wears black turtle neck sweaters and black pants and is considered somewhat suave.
