Background

Miro has had an interesting life, and for the last twenty-five years he has been involved in the superhero world. He began his career with the Australian Intelligence Service (A.S.I.O.) and then became involved in a disastrous investigation into organised crime in Melbourne with links to Chinese Triad. His small team of agents was caught in a terrible explosion one night, which triggered his ubergene, transforming him into a kind of werewolf. The savageness frightened him, but it also allowed him to track down and defeat the Triad cell.

A.S.I.O. transferred him to their uberhuman division, which was made up of two other uberhumans: Stockade and Jackaroo. The three became well known in intelligence circles, operating within Australia and South East Asia. They became known as the Scorpio Division of A.S.I.O. and their operations lasted for nearly five years before Jackaroo was killed in action and Dingo retired.

He was soon picked up by the fledgling Southern Knights who had become a public super hero team operating across three countries: Australia, New Zealand and Brazil. Dingo became a member just after the team had been devastated by a battle in Rio de Janeiro. One of the team, Professor Quake, had reduced the city to rubble in order to stop a powerful foe, but the resulting damage included thousands of civilian deaths as well as the deaths of all Southern Knights who were on the scene. And so it was a somber atmosphere that Dingo entered, a feeling which never really left him.

He never felt like he belonged with the Southern Knights, but after a conflict with Gauntlet, Dingo's feral nature went absolutely wild and he killed a policeman. He had a climactic battle with Dumaguete, and came off second best. After recuperating, Dingo requested that the scientists at Southern Cross International come up with a way to neutralise his powers. It just so happened that they were developing such a device, and Dingo underwent treatment.

The Dingo aspect of his nature was destroyed.

Of course he knew that he would regret his decision, but the death of the policeman weighed heavily on him.

Dokic returned to A.S.I.O. and became an active agent once more, a position he kept for years before being approached by Saxon Durant III and asked to head up the Southern Cross International's Security. He initially refused, not wanting anything more to do with the organisation which had taken his powers away, but after several consecutive attacks by Professor Quake and Gauntlet, Dokic realised that Southern Cross International had become a target which needed protection. He knew that the technologies and the potential scientific and medical discoveries required stringent security, and he accepted the position. He remains Head of Security at the present.

Personality
Dokic has been hardened by life, but firmly believes that the past should stay in the past. He doesn't spend much time speaking about things, although he cannot stop remembering certain moments - particularly the death of a policeman in Manila. Although he doesn't talk about the past, he also doesn't seem to plan for his present and future. Some people have commented that Dokic looks like he is just waiting to die. It may be an overstatement, but Dokic doesn't give the impression that he cares much about his own future.

The entrance of hard-nosed reporter, Jocelyn Lee, however, has managed to stir some fire in him. She works as a senior journalist for the Sydney Morning Herald and has managed to ingratiate herself to Dokic even though he is strongly anti-media and hasn't given an interview since his days with the Southern Knights. Lee and Dokic have even attempted several dinner or lunch dates, although they are usually in a strange hot-cold relationship.
Quote
"Put your hands above your head and you can keep your dignity. At least, you can keep what's left of it."
Powers

Dokic is a trained combatant, especially known as a marksman with pistols. As Dingo he was able to transform into a bestial form which granted him enhanced strength, durability and regenerative powers. Although this ability is gone, Dokic is still a formidable opponent. He utilises an advanced weapons cache developed by Southern Cross International, including a version of the ubergene neutraliser which was used on him years ago.

Appearance

He has been through a lot, having been at the forefront of action since the early 1980s. His face is worn, and sports a bold scar across his right eye - the result of his bloody battle with Dumaguete in Manila. He also has a distinctive red scorpion tattoo on his left wrist, which was the identifying mark of the Scorpio Division of A.S.I.O. As Head of Security, Dokic wears a black armoured vest over a long sleeve t-shirt and hardy jeans. When he's not at work, which is rare, he wears jeans and cotton shirts.
