Background

Amir Aziz was the only survivor of the East Guard, a group of six Government-sanctioned ubers working to secure the border with India. When The Assembly moved against Pakistan, the East Guard was destroyed but Amir Aziz was captured and after deciding that his talents were too useful to waste in a prison, Aziz was coerced to join the people which had killed his own team mates. At first he refused. He declared that he would rather die.

But then his wife and two daughters were brought into the interrogation room and Aziz felt defeated.

As Shockwave, Aziz works for The Assembly and is the token Pakistani representative which is supposed to make the Pakistanis who now find themselves under the Rule of India feel better about the situation. Aziz is torn between wanting to protect his family and wanting to die. He and his family are kept in Mumbai, secure in their own small mansion, but unable to leave without an escort.

Personality

Aziz was once a proud man, but since his country has been subjugated, his team mates decimated, and his family incarcerated, he seems to have lost the ability to fight. He obeys the instructions of his new masters because he fears for the lives of his wife and daughters. Inside his mind is a seething pit of vengeances, but he dares not strike out. Aziz represents the fate of Pakistan: forced through threats to live peacefully under the command of India.

Powers

Shockwave is able to detonate himself in a concussive explosion. The process is painful and requires some concentration in reassembling himself into a human form, but the effects of the blast are impressive and the reason why The Assembly didn't kill him in Lahore. He is able to channel his powers into shockwave blasts which heighten his power in martial arts, but usually Shockwave is deployed in a battle to explode. He is usually sent in first to clear out the defences and the main team follows at a safe distance.

Appearance

Shockwave is an intimidating figure. He wears a large helmet with yellow eye globes, a black costume with a red shockwave pattern down one side, and an imposing beard. He is a big man but on closer examination it is clear that he is also a defeated man. His shoulders aren't as strong and proud as they once were and his movements lack conviction.

Out of costume, Aziz prefers simple, modest clothing and spends most of his time in his mansion-prison with his family.
