The man wearing the trench coat slunk inside of the circus tent of Stromboli's Super Spectacular Circus. Omar al-Rajastan was a hunted man. He cast his eyes over the crowds trying to spot the super-heroes that surely were after him. However, he didn't think the super-heroes would consider striking at him with all these people around.

Omar felt somewhat safer in the crowds of circus goers. Children and their parents jostled all around. Omar was sure that the super-heroes hadn't found him. Omar was wrong. Not too far behind him were Iron Amir and the Veil of Five Pillars. The two super heroes were here to capture him. Omar cursed his luck for not having the Gauntlet of Ghazim with him. The super heroes worried about trying to capture Omar with such crowds around.

The show had started. Omar found a place to sit, and the super heroes were forced to fall back. In the center ring a circus strongman stepped out into the spotlight. He was introduced to the crowd as Saladin the Strong, the strongest Turk in the world. The strongman went through the usual act of lifting immense weights, bending bars, etc... It was while the act was changing that Iron Amir and the Veil decided to act. As Saladin was stepping out of the spotlight, a troupe of elephants were taking to the ring.

Standing up the super heroes flew into action. Two quick things happened next. Omar, who was on the look out, ducked down out of sight. The other was Saladin. The strongman saw out of the corner of his eye what was going on and immediately charged. Both super heroes missed their target. The sound of their attacks greatly upset the elephants who trumpeted their fear and anger. Iron Amir turned his laser on the charging strongman. Oddly enough the laser didnít seem to faze him. In an instant Saladin was on him. Before Iron Amir knew what was happening he was flying through the air before crashing to the ground. The Veil, thinking the better of it, took to her heels.

It was utter chaos in the tent. People were screaming and trying their best to get out the tent away from the gunfire. To make matters worse, one of the elephants had gone into a rage. Trumpeting loudly, the elephant charged the crowd. Saladin only had a moment to think about interposing his body between the crowds and the angered elephant. With a swing of its trunk it struck at Saladin and now Saladin was flying backwards into the crowd. Angrily the elephant focused on him. Raising an immense foot the elephant tried to stomp the man into the ground. Amazingly, Saladin grabbed the elephant's foot and actually prevented the elephant from crushing him. With a super-human heave Saladin toppled the elephant onto its back. The elephant was too confused by this act to react. At that instant the elephant's handlers were back to calm the animal down and lead it away.

People were screaming and running amok. Saladin was sure that he might get hurt if he didn't do something fast. Looking around, he noticed that the exit was packed. Rushing to the nearest wall, Saladin grabbed the fabric and pulled. The fabric ripped easily and Saladin left the others to their own fate.

Outside the tent things weren't much better. The owner of the circus rushed up a Saladin yelling at him. "You Turk, you Turk, what have you done?" the man yelled in Saladin's face. Saladin ignored the man, as best he could. Saladin was more concerned about himself. However, when the man laid a hand on Saladin he reacted. The man would be out of the hospital during the next week. Saladin didnít stick around to find out.

The morning papers came out with a picture of Saladin on the cover. The head lines read "Turk Saves Circus." However, Saladin was out of job, even though he was a hero in many peoples eyes. Saladin couldnít care less. Those people didnít mean a thing to him.

That morning found Saladin sitting on a stump on the road side reading the paper. The circus had left town the day before. While reading the paper an expensive sports car roared by and then stopped suddenly about a kilometer away. With a squeal of tires the driver reversed the sports car, finally coming to a halt in front of Saladin.

"Say, are you that Turk?" asked man in the car.

"Yes, yes that's me. For all the good it has done me." answered Saladin with a frown.

"Well, I just heard about what you did. I can certainly use a man of your talents in my organization. Would you be interested in joining Fatwa?" said the man.

"Maybe." said Saladin.

"Well, I'm heading to Mecca. Want to come?" asked the man.

"Sure, why not." said Saladin standing up folding his paper and going around the sports car to get in the passenger side.

"By the way," said the man, "my name is Omal al-Rajastan, but you can call me Imam. Nice to meet you." Omar put the sports car in gear and sped south towards Mecca.

Saladin is a hypocrite. While he might pretend to be a pious man, itís all a front. Saladin could barely care less about anyone else. The only reason he keeps with Imam is that it allows him to push people around. Saladin likes to act the bully picking on those with less power than he. This generally includes anyone who isnít an uber.

"Oh stop that; that tickles, or Iíll break you like a twig.Ē

Saladin has had super-powers for as long as he can remember. He's a carrier of the ubergene which expresses itself in several ways. Primarily it grants Saladin super human strength. As a side effect of this increased strength, he has an equally powerful resistance to harm. Bullets have a tendency to bounce of Saladin's chest. Knives have even been known to bend against Saladin's flesh.

Saladin's immense strength is also in his legs, allowing Saladin to leap over long distances. Due to his circus training Saladin is very accurate in his jumps. Furthermore, Saladin can stiffen up the muscles in his body making himself practically unmovable.

Another change the meta-gene has provided Saladin is that his flesh mends itself rather quickly. Saladin can recover from wounds faster than a normal person could. Wounds that would put most people in the hospital are shrugged off by Saladin.

Due to his circus training, Saladin has learned a number of strength tricks. Using a handy object, Saladin can twist it around a foe trapping them. Or by clapping his hands together Saladin can cause a terrible sound wave that deafens his foes. To be dramatic Saladin has been known to use his finger as a weapon. With a mere flick of his mighty finger he can render a foe unconscious.

Saladin is a tall muscular man with a bronze-like complexion. He has short curly black hair and black eyes as well. Saladin also has a goatee growing from his chin. He wears a modified version of his circus strongman costume which consists of red goatskin boots with pointed toes, black pantaloons, a black leather vest with Arabesque writing in gold along the fringes, and of course a tightly wound black turban.
