Siliidi has gone through a number of careers. At first she started as a sociologist whose area of expertise dealt with the uberhuman phenomena. It was after this that she too was diagnosed as an uber. Coming from Sri Lanka, a Protectorate of India, she was made to join the Assembly. Siliidi thought that this would be a perfect place to study ubers up close as one of them, and took the code name Monsoon. She didn’t make many friends among the Assembly because she studied them instead of interacting with them. As such, Siliidi was even more of an outsider than Umbra.

Siliidi, along with Zone and Charm, were on Sri Lanka when the major tsunami struck on Boxing Day 2004, and the Assembly heroes tried to fight to reduce the damage the tsunami caused. Siliidi used her weather powers to an extreme, and she fought the tsunami itself, while Zone and Charm rescued stranded victims of the tsunami. Due to the efforts of the Assembly heroes many lives were saved. Siliidi spent the entire day in the air when another wave formed out of nowhere. She looked at the wave with a clinical eye because it formed into the face of a fish man. Then the face struck and Siliidi was sucked down under the water.

Zone and Charm saw Monsoon going under but they didn’t see the face. Unfortunately the other members of the Assembly were occupied themselves across India and Sri Lanka so it was hours before they were able to arrive. Siliidi was long gone before that. She was thought to have died in the storm.

Little did they know.

It was the slap that brought Siliidi back to consciousness. She was a little shocked to see fish men holding her prisoner. Two burly fish men held her upright while another one wearing the darkest blue robes just stood before her. He was the one who had slapped her. However, he was in for a surprise in that she didn’t react but decided to start studying him instead. For Siliidi it was an opportunity - a new society.

Siliidi was taken to Reef City, a city in the Atlantean Empire. There she was a prisoner of the exiled Lemurian priest Marianas. He had heard about the power of the surface world ubers and wished to study one up close. He was taken aback when Siliidi started studying him. As a sign of her belonging to him, she was given a pair of bracelets that allowed her to survive in Reef City.

She spent several months in Reef City, studying the Atlanteans. She became quite familiar to them, even with Marianas forcing her to use her powers in a number of different experiments.

One day during her imprisonment, Reef City was attacked. Not by a roving Lemurian or Atlantean bandit force, but by a single man. Seiche had come to Reef City looking for her after hearing a rumour from Starfish that a surface-worlder uber was being held in Reef City. With his command over water the Lemurian priest was no match for him.

Siliidi first saw Seiche after he blew the doors off of the building where she was being held. The only one who could stand up against him was the priest Marianas. Marianas summoned sea creature after sea creature and commanded them to attack the Swiss, but to no avail. With a wave of his hand a geyser of water burst from the floor plastering Marianas to the roof.

“Ah,” said Seiche, “there you are. These damn fish men are quite vexing. I’d show them how to cast off their outmoded ways, but alas I’m not sure they’d listen. "

Siliidi just stood there studying the Swiss.

“Well,” said Seiche, “I do think it’s time to be on our way. Ruin waits for no man - or woman of that matter.” Seiche chuckled at his little joke.

A fist of water formed and Seiche commanded it to punch a hole through a wall. The pair of them escaped Reef City returning to the surface. Seiche introduced Monsoon to the rest of Ruin. San Andreas and Vesuvius looked nervous, especially with El Nino rocking the boat. She took one look at El Nino and felt a motherly love towards the boy, and even got him to stop what he was doing, much to the relief of the other two.

Now Siliidi has a new group to study, and a new career being a super-villain as a member of Ruin. Also once the Assembly learned of her return they weren’t too pleased and have since sought after her.

Siliidi is very much apart from normal people. The reason might be that she has to distance herself to keep control of her powers. As such she prefers to observe more than interact with others. She has been watching others for so long, it’s difficult her to be part of a group. The one soft spot she does have is an affection for El Nino, whose powers are similar to hers.

“Do not dare to defy the power of the monsoon.”

Siliidi has control over the weather. Her powers are concentrated around creating strong winds and driving rain. Monsoon can also project bursts of lightning, bring up strong winds to protect herself, and can even have the winds pick her up allowing her to fly. Gunfire and other projectiles are usually ineffective against her, as her control of the winds allows her to throw the bullets back at the person who shot at her.

In addition to her weather control powers, Monsoon has a pair of bracelets which allows her to survive underwater, a reminder of her time with the Atlanteans.

Monsoon is an attractive Sri Lankan woman. She typically keeps her hair in a ponytail which she plays with when she’s distracted. For a costume she wears a yellow sari with a purple border. Also Monsoon likes to go barefoot. Her only other apparel is a pair of bracelets
