Fong Chung, the Red Star General stood before the glass and peered through at the cribs lined up six long in two rows. A dozen infants lay in the cribs before him. Some slept while other cried out. He beamed in pride as he silently watched. They were his children, all from women who he had never met, but whose wombs had been visited by his seed. These children would be his new Red Star Battalion, the likes of which the other generals in the People’s Army could only dream about. Hi children, his Red Star Battalion would be like gods; gods loyal to him, the Red Star General.

As the general stood there he started to chuckle, a chuckle that grew in volume entire the entire room rocked with his mirth. The babes all grew silent listening to their father. Then the general spied something about one of the children that displeased him.

“What,” the general exclaimed in a booming voice; the humor lost to the night. Doctor Sung who stood a little behind the general jumped a little at the change in the general’s mood.

“My general,” Doctor Sung stammered.

The Red Star General turned to glare at the doctor and the pointed an accusing finger towards the nursery.

“A girl,” the general practically spat. “I commanded that only boys be brought to Camp Zero. What is the meaning of this? Do you seek to insult me Doctor Sung?”

“No, no,” Doctor Sung said as he turned pale and tried to placate the Red Star General. He paused to dab at the sweat that broke out on his forehead with a silk handkerchief.

“Using available technology and science acquired from the DiY Ubergene Project we were able to manipulate the genetic code of the fetuses to produce a superior soldier. Unfortunately, the female is an aberration we hadn’t planned on. Of course I can have it terminated as you wish Red Star General.”

Doctor Sung would’ve continued talking except that the Red Star General had quickly turned a delivered a blow to his neck. There was a loud cracking sound as the bones in the doctor’s neck shattered and he slumped to the floor.

Turning his head towards Doctor Sung’s subordinate, and now replacement, Doctor Zhang the general calmly said, “No, as the late doctor was aware this is an experiment. I forgive your staff Doctor Zhang for this oversight. No, the female child shall remain. It shall receive the same training as the others. If it survives then so be it and if it doesn’t then that is the way it should be. Keep me informed on all progress, doctor.”

As the general was about to leave the nursery he paused.

“Her names,” he asked. “What name has been assigned to her?”

“Yun,” Doctor Zhang said meekly doing his best to keep away from the Red Star General.

Yun was three when she was introduced to firearms. The gun felt heavy in her tiny hands, but in a strange way it felt natural. Along with her eleven other brothers they proceeded to do daily training exercises at the firing range. All proved to be quite adapt at shoot, but it was Yun who was the best of them all. All of this was diligently reported to the Red Star General. Thereafter the general took an interest in the girl.

The children were six when the true indoctrination began. In addition to the fire range and exhausting physical training there were the classes. These were Maoist doctrine, which the Red Star General occasionally taught, history of the glorious revolution, a class that bore Yun unlike any of the others, and jurisprudence which proved to be the toughest class for the young girl to comprehend.

As Yun grew older she was given personal training in martial arts. One day she was introduced to the Sifu, possibly the oldest person she had ever met before. Being taught to always honor her elders, especially the Red Star General, she always listened intently to whatever the Sifu taught. The ancient noted how well Yun used guns and integrated them into her martial arts training. It was the Sifu that ingrained in Yun the concept of always going armed. As the old man said, “A thousand shots are still a thousand shots, but it’s really the one shot that matters to the assassin.”

Another person of import to the growing Yun was Huan Yue possibly the first female that she met growing up. Yun wasn’t supposed to have met Huan Yue, who was a comrade of the Red Star General known as the Red Censor. Her father and the Red Censor belonged to a secret cabal within the state controlled uberhuman community. Huan Yue feared and admired the Red Star General’s efforts to create a group of special, albeit not uberhuman assassins that would be loyal to him. The Red Censor couldn’t allow the Red Star General that much power, power she felt would be better used by her. Using her considerable powers of telepathy she started mentally influence Yun in secret. At time the Red Censor would even take control of Yuns’ body.

For graduation the Red Star Battalion were given the assignment of flying into North Korea and assassinating Beloved Leader whom the Red Star General felt was a growing threat to his power. Yun was given a special designed white costume and matching mask that hid her entire face. She was further given his code name in a ceremony conducted by the Sifu and the Red Star General. Unknown to all the Red Censor attended the ceremony hidden in shadows and her own mental defenses. Yun was given the code name of China White.

The twelve Red Star Battalion members were smuggled into Pyongyang by various means; some came by plane and others down the Taedong River. It proved to be just too easy to infiltrate the North Korean capital. It proved to be a trap. They were just about to deliver the killing stroke to the Beloved Leader when the target proved to be a mannequin. In confusion the Red Star Battalion was trapped themselves in a courtyard facing the Beloved Leader in his gigantic Red Flag Vanguard Robot. Laughing manically the Red Flag Vanguard Robot opened fire. China White was one of a few of the Red Star Battalion to survive. She fled south, eventually secreting herself across the DMZ a superhuman feat if there was one. China White just knew that the Red Censor had interfered in the mission. She wasn’t angry with Huan Yue knowing that the elimination of the Red Star Battalion was just a tactic on her part. In a way she admired the other woman.

China White left Asia travelling the world as an assassin for hire. Her prices were excessive as were her successes. It was during a brief stop in Paris that she encountered her old mentor the Sifu. It was the ancient who suggested the formation of the Assassin Union. Intrigued the pair spent the entire night discussing the idea. The next day China White was off again seeking possible recuits.

Yun is a well-trained killer. She has been trained by some of the best martial artists the world has to offer. The more prominent was the Sifu who instilled Yun with the discipline to always have a weapon handy. There are few places that Yun goes that she doesn’t have a firearm, usually two hidden on her body. While Yun does know how to use other weapons the hand gun is her preferred.

Due to her upbringing with the Red Star Battalion, Yun has no compunction about taking a life. Preferably these days she would rather get paid for any killings, but that doesn’t stop her from making a kill when necessary. She has a reputation as an assassin for getting the job done.

"Opportunities multiply as they are seized."

Yun is a master marksman. With a gun in each hand she’s be hard pressed to find anyone equal in her skill. Typically Yun fights with a Chinese made semi-automatic pistol in each hand. She has an almost otherworldly ability to sense where her targets are and can deliver a deadly burst of fire. Most foes just deserve a single shot, but against more difficult foes Yun can fire off a “double tab” that sends most foes to the hospital. Yun has also been known to fire her weapons in a circle hitting multiple foes. If the situation warrants it Yun can unleash a barrage of shots at her targets. Those not seeking cover usually don’t last long in a gunfight with her.

In addition to her marksmanship, Yun has been trained by one of the greatest martial artists the world has known in the Sifu. He has trained her in a way that she can use her guns as an extension of her making her shots that much more deadly. Not only has the Sifu trained to use her guns, but also in the ways of kung fu. Most of her trained dealt with how to subdue a foe and very little in the way of blocking or dodging.

As China White, Yun wears a specially reinforced costume that protects her from most physical and energy attacks. She also wears a mask that provides her with the ability to see at night as well as protects her from blinding flashes. One of the first things that Yun purchase after leaving Asia was a psychic inhibitor as small device that fits into the ears which provides her with some protection against psychic intrusion. Yun dealt with mental attacks from the Red Censor and doesn’t want to get caught unawares again when she crosses paths with her.

Yun is a short statured Asian woman who usually keeps her raven black hair held back in a ponytail. She is an attractive woman who engages in a lot of physical activities. Her costume consists of a white bodysuit with black studs on the wrists and at the shins. She wears a matching white mask that has the eyes making them look like black and a pair of red lips. Around her waist she wears a black belt with a white buckle. Her usual weapon of choice is the Chinese QSZ-92 9mm semi-automatic pistol. When Yun doesn’t have her pistols in her hands they’re stuffed into her belt.

When Yun isn’t dressed up at China White she usually wears nondescript clothing. She isn’t one to attract too much attention to herself.
